Management Permissions
Home > Management Mode > Organization > Management Permissions
From the Management Mode home screen, tap Organization, then select Management Permissions to open the Management Permissions page.
New members have no management permissions by default. They can only use standard user features, such as clocking in, submitting requests, and viewing their own information.
- No Management Permissions: New members cannot perform management actions or enter Management Mode.
- Permission Upgrade: If a member needs management permissions, the Creator or a Top Manager can assign the member as a Manager or Top Manager, or grant specific custom permissions as needed.
This default protects the organization by preventing unauthorized members from using administrative features.
Management Permission Principles
| No. | Management Permission |
|---|---|
| 1 | Creator (highest authority) |
| 2 | Top Manager |
| 3 | Custom Permissions (Manager) |
| 4 | No Management Permissions (General User) |
There are four management permission levels:
-
Creator
- Has the highest authority with no feature restrictions.
- Creates and manages the organization and cannot be deleted or have the role transferred.
- Can grant management permissions to others, including assigning Top Manager or Custom Permissions (Manager).
- Can delete the organization.
- Can delete other members.
- Can modify another Top Manager's permissions, such as downgrading that person to Manager.
- The Creator account is used to subscribe to an organization plan.
-
Top Manager
- Has the same full feature access as the Creator, with no functional restrictions.
- Can grant management permissions to others, including assigning Top Manager or Custom Permissions (Manager).
- Can delete the organization.
- Can delete any member except the Creator.
- Can modify the permissions of other Top Managers, but not the Creator.
-
Custom Permissions (Manager)
- Has management access within a defined scope, such as personnel visibility, payroll, attendance, and group management.
- The Creator or a Top Manager can configure the detailed permission scope for managers with specific responsibilities.
-
No Management Permissions
- Has General User status and cannot perform management actions.
- Intended for employees who only need to clock in, submit requests, or view their own information.
Permission Management Principle: The Creator and Top Managers can assign and adjust management permissions to keep responsibilities clear and management efficient.
Creator and Top Manager
The main difference between the Creator and a Top Manager is control over the roles themselves:
-
Creator
- Has the highest unrestricted authority and can use every feature.
- Can delete Top Managers or change their permissions.
- The Creator role cannot be deleted or transferred.
-
Top Manager
- Has nearly the same feature access as the Creator and can use all system features.
- Cannot delete the Creator or change the Creator's permissions.
This design ensures that the Creator retains final control of the organization and prevents accidental changes to its key role.
Important: Do not use the Creator account on different phones. The Creator account can only be used on the same phone; Top Manager, Manager, and General User accounts do not have this restriction. If the person who created the organization needs to use SwipePoint on another phone, add a separate Top Manager and use that Top Manager account on the other phone.
Default Permissions
Home > Management Mode > Organization > Management Permissions > Default
From the Management Mode home screen, tap Organization, then select Management Permissions to open the Management Permissions page.
| No. | Default Permission |
|---|---|
| 1 | Top Manager |
| 2 | Manager |
Default Permissions can be set to Manager or Top Manager:
- Manager: Has management permissions within an assigned scope. Specific capabilities, such as group management, personnel visibility, payroll, or attendance management, can be granted according to the organization's needs.
- Top Manager: Has the same permissions as the Creator and can use every feature without scope restrictions, including organization data, all personnel management, announcements, policies, and goals.
These settings let the organization delegate focused responsibilities while giving Top Managers full management capabilities.
Assign Management Permissions
Home > Management Mode > Organization > Management Permissions > Assign Management Permissions
From the Management Mode home screen, tap Organization, then select Management Permissions to open the Management Permissions page.
To assign management permissions:
- Select a Manager: Find the member you want to make a manager and open the member's profile.
- Open Permission Settings: Tap Default in the upper-right corner of the profile page.
- Choose a Role:
- Select Manager to grant basic management permissions within an assigned scope.
- Select Top Manager to grant the organization's highest management permissions without scope restrictions.
- Copy Permissions: To configure permissions quickly, copy another user's permissions and apply the same settings.
This design supports both detailed delegation and efficient assignment of consistent management roles.
Custom Permission Settings
Home > Management Mode > Organization > Management Permissions > Any Employee
From the Management Mode home screen, tap Organization, select Management Permissions, then tap any employee to open the custom permission settings.

Home > Management Mode > Organization > Management Permissions > Any Employee > Personnel Visibility
From the Management Mode home screen, tap Organization, select Management Permissions, then tap any employee to open the custom permission settings.
Personnel Visibility can be set to Group or All to control a manager's visibility and management scope:
- All: The manager can view and manage every member of the organization, regardless of group.
- Group: The manager can only view and manage people in assigned groups, keeping the permission scope focused and clear.
To add or change the people in a group, go to Organization > Groups and update the group membership.
| No. | Personnel Visibility |
|---|---|
| 1 | Group |
| 2 | All |
Transfer the Creator Role
The Creator role currently cannot be transferred to another manager or deleted. Choose a stable person who is unlikely to leave the organization as the Creator so management access remains available.
If the Creator may leave in the future, a core company member—such as the founder, investor, person in charge, chairperson, general manager, owner, or another key member—should create a new organization and delete the old organization. This prevents future permission and system-operation problems and helps maintain continuity.
The Creator role cannot be transferred to another manager or deleted. This design keeps the organization's management structure stable and reduces risks caused by permission changes.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: What management permission levels are available?
A: There are four levels: Creator, Top Manager, Custom Permissions (Manager), and No Management Permissions (General User). Each level has a different degree of system access.
Q2: What permissions does a new organization member have by default?
A: A new member has no management permissions by default. The member can use standard user features, such as clocking in, submitting requests, and viewing personal information, but cannot perform management actions or enter Management Mode.
Q3: How do I upgrade a member from no management permissions to Manager?
A: A Creator or Top Manager can go to Management Mode > Organization > Management Permissions and assign the member as a Manager or Top Manager, or grant specific custom permissions.
Q4: What is the main difference between a Creator and a Top Manager?
A: The Creator has the highest authority, can delete Top Managers or change their permissions, and cannot be deleted or transferred. A Top Manager has nearly the same feature access but cannot delete the Creator or change the Creator's permissions.
Q5: What are Custom Permissions (Manager), and who defines their scope?
A: Custom Permissions give a Manager access to a defined set of functions, such as personnel visibility, payroll, attendance, and group management. The Creator or a Top Manager configures the detailed scope for each Manager.
Q6: Which specific permissions can be assigned to a Manager?
A: Available permissions include personnel visibility, organization data, groups, personal information, payroll, work schedules, performance, leave, attendance and clock-in records, adding new personnel, viewing seniority, adding announcements, adding policies, and adding goals. Depending on the feature, access can be set to Not Allowed, View, or Edit.
Q7: What is the difference between Group and All under Personnel Visibility?
A: All lets the Manager view and manage every member of the organization. Group limits the Manager to people in assigned groups.
Q8: What should the organization do if the Creator may leave?
A: Because the Creator role cannot be transferred or deleted, a founder, investor, person in charge, or another core member should create a new organization and delete the old one to maintain stable access and operations.
Q9: Why can't I see every employee even though I am a Manager?
A: Your permission scope may be limited. Ask the Creator or a Top Manager to assign you as a Top Manager or change your Personnel Visibility setting from Group to All.
Q10: Why can't I manage members even though I am a Manager?
A: Ask the Creator or a Top Manager to verify your permissions or change your Personnel Visibility setting from Group to All. If your access is limited to one group, you cannot view members in other groups.
