Annual Leave

Annual Leave is paid leave provided under local labor laws or company policy and is usually calculated based on an employee's length of service. It may also be called paid leave or annual vacation. Whether unused hours are carried forward or converted to pay depends on local law and company policy.

Compensatory Leave

Compensatory Leave converts overtime hours into leave that can be taken later, subject to local law and the agreement between the employer and employee. The balance, expiry date, and treatment of unused hours must follow local law and company policy.

Annual Leave Year-End Settlement

At year-end, an administrator can add a negative-hours entry to offset the previous year's balance, record the reason in the notes, and then allocate the new year's annual leave. Follow local law and company policy when carrying unused leave forward or converting it to pay.

Compensatory Leave Settlement

If an employee has unused compensatory-leave hours, complete the required settlement and retain the appropriate records under local law and company policy. After settlement is confirmed, an administrator can delete the employee's compensatory-leave record from the "Grant Leave" page.

Reminder!

  • SwipePoint does not currently calculate annual leave or reset it automatically each year. Administrators must set each employee's annual-leave allowance according to local labor laws.
