Default Leave Types
The system includes common leave types used in Taiwan under the Labor Standards Act, the Regulations of Leave-Taking of Workers, the Gender Equality in Employment Act, and related requirements. These include annual leave, compensatory leave, personal leave, ordinary sick leave, bereavement leave, marriage leave, job-seeking leave, family care leave, official leave, occupational injury and sickness leave, unpaid leave for medical treatment, Prenatal Checkup Accompaniment and Paternity Leave, Parental Leave Without Pay, and others. Eligibility, duration, pay, and application procedures remain subject to the latest laws and the organization's policies.
A future update will allow administrators to import local government public holidays.
Leave Types
SwipePoint provides two categories of leave types for administrators to configure:
- General Leave Types: Leave that employees can apply for directly under applicable rules. Common examples include personal leave, sick leave, bereavement leave, and menstrual leave.
- Entitlement-Based Leave Types: Leave granted by an organization under applicable laws or internal policies, primarily measured in hours. Examples include annual leave and compensatory leave. Employees usually earn these entitlements through seniority, overtime hours, or other qualifying conditions; employees cannot increase the balances themselves.

General Leave Type Use Cases
- Typhoon Leave: When the government announces a suspension of work and classes, or a natural disaster affects commuting and business operations, employers should handle attendance and wages according to local announcements, the organization's policies, and relevant Ministry of Labor guidance. Organizations can also create a custom leave type to record the related attendance status.
- Indigenous Peoples' Traditional Festival Leave: Employees with Indigenous status may take three days of leave each year under the Commemorative Days and Holidays Act and the dates announced by the competent authority. They may select the three days from the traditional ceremonial dates of their own Indigenous group or that of a parent or spouse. Employees should provide proof of their Indigenous group as required by the employer, such as a household certificate or household registration transcript.
