Restrict GPS Range for Clock-In

GPS-based clock-in is an efficient, accurate, and convenient attendance method, particularly suited for fieldwork and remote work environments. It helps improve HR management efficiency.

GPS tracking usually works best in open outdoor environments, such as in wide-open fields, at sea, or in rural areas, where there is ample satellite signal. However, GPS accuracy can never be 100%, as signal reception may be affected by indoor environments, weather conditions, tall buildings in cities, satellite visibility, and potential electronic interference. Indoors or in underground spaces, GPS signals can be obstructed or reflected, and extreme weather like heavy rain or thick cloud cover can also interfere with signals. Additionally, in dense urban areas, buildings may reflect or block GPS signals, and limited satellite visibility or weak signals may cause positioning errors. As such, GPS accuracy can be impacted both indoors and under certain weather conditions.

Enable Photo Clock-In

Once enabled, users must take a photo according to instructions when clocking in. Instructions can include taking a picture of a clock or house number to provide proof of the time and location at the time of clock-in.

This feature requires a subscription to the storage plan before use.

Enforce GPS Clock-In Location Recording

By default, "Enforce GPS Clock-In Location Recording" is not enabled, allowing employees to choose whether to submit GPS data with their clock-in. If you want all employees to submit GPS coordinates when clocking in, enable "Enforce GPS Clock-In Location Recording."

GPS Location for This Clock-In Point

Set the GPS location. Users can clock in within a specified radius, but clocking in outside this range will not be allowed.

Clock-In Range for This Location

Management Mode > Clock-In Records and Management > Clock-In Point Settings > Clock-In Range for This Location

Set the GPS clock-in range, from 10 meters to 1,000 meters.

If users frequently find themselves outside the clock-in range, consider expanding the allowed range.

Features Overview

  • Location Recognition: Uses the mobile phone's GPS to verify the employee's location, ensuring they are working at the designated site.
  • Real-Time Monitoring: Managers can request employees to report their location, helping track progress and work hours.

How to Use

  1. Enable GPS: Employees enable GPS on their mobile phones.
  2. Clock-In Record: The system automatically records the employee's location and clock-in time.
  3. Data Logging: Clock-in data is immediately stored on the company's server for management review.

Advantages

  • Efficient Management: Increases the transparency and accuracy of attendance tracking.
  • Convenient Clock-In: Employees can clock in from any location, reducing dependence on fixed clock-in machines.
  • Cost Savings: Eliminates the need to purchase and maintain traditional clock-in machines, saving costs.
  • Data Analysis: GPS clock-in data can be used for work pattern and route planning analysis, enhancing management efficiency.

Suitable Scenarios

  • Fieldwork: For jobs requiring frequent movement, such as sales, service, and installation.
  • Remote Work: Ideal for situations requiring work from different locations.

Notes

  • Privacy Concerns: Take care to protect employee privacy and comply with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Signal Coverage: Ensure good GPS signal strength to avoid issues with clock-in due to weak signals.
