GPS Clock-in Restriction

Home > Admin Mode > Clock-in Records & Management > Clock-in Point Settings > Select Clock-in Point > GPS Clock-in Restriction

Administrators can navigate to "Clock-in Records & Management" from the Admin Mode homepage, select "Clock-in Point Settings," and access the GPS clock-in restriction settings page. GPS-based clock-in is an efficient, accurate, and convenient attendance tracking method, particularly suitable for field and remote work environments, enhancing the efficiency of HR management.

GPS positioning typically performs best in open outdoor environments, such as fields, seas, or suburbs due to ample satellite signals. However, GPS accuracy cannot be 100% guaranteed as indoor environments, weather conditions, high-rise buildings in cities, satellite visibility, and electronic interference may affect signal reception. Inside buildings or underground spaces, GPS signals are easily blocked or reflected. Extreme weather such as heavy rain or thick cloud cover can also disrupt signals. Moreover, in urban areas with numerous high-rise buildings, GPS signals can be reflected or blocked, leading to positioning errors due to limited or weak satellite signals. Thus, GPS accuracy can be compromised indoors or under certain weather conditions.

Mandatory Photo Capture

Home > Admin Mode > Clock-in Records & Management > Clock-in Point Settings > Select Clock-in Point > GPS Clock-in Restriction > Mandatory Photo Capture

Administrators can navigate to "Clock-in Records & Management" from the Admin Mode homepage, select "Clock-in Point Settings," and access the mandatory photo capture setting. Without this feature enabled, employees have the choice to upload a photo. Once enabled, employees must capture and upload a photo as directed at the time of clock-in, such as a clock or house number that validates the exact time and location.

To ensure authenticity, it is recommended that photos include a company wall clock or a television showing a news program. The clock or television screen should clearly indicate the current date and time, helping to prevent falsification using old photos. Photos should ideally combine employee identification with these time-stamping elements for further verification.

This feature requires subscribing to the Premium "Storage Space" plan by the organization's creator, enabling cloud-based photo uploads.

Mandatory GPS Location Recording

Home > Admin Mode > Clock-in Records & Management > Clock-in Point Settings > Select Clock-in Point > GPS Clock-in Restriction > Mandatory GPS Location Recording

Administrators can enable "Mandatory GPS Location Recording" from "Clock-in Records & Management" under Admin Mode. When disabled, employees can choose whether to report GPS location. Enabling ensures GPS coordinates must be submitted during clock-in.

Important Reminders:

  1. GPS Spoofing Risks: Technical methods may still spoof GPS locations.
  2. Signal Issues: Employees may experience GPS signal upload failures due to hardware or environmental factors.
  3. Recommendation: Pair with Mandatory Photo Capture to ensure authenticity and completeness.

FAQ

Q1: How to set a clock-in address?

A: Navigate to "Clock-in Records & Management" under Admin Mode, select "Clock-in Point Settings," and precisely set GPS location by inputting an address or dragging a marker on the map. Employees must be within the set radius to clock in; being outside this area will prevent clock-in.
